History of Foster
Insurance Agency
Ralph S. Foster, looking for a change and a better career than farming, started his insurance and real estate business in 1924, selling automobile and homeowners policies. His two sons, Roger W. and Robert N., joined him after W.W.II and college and the business continued to expand.
Scott W. Foster joined the firm 1972 after his father, Roger, peaked his interest in the insurance industry, and in 1983 purchased the agency. Today, the agency has 13 employees between the Fitchburg and Ashburnham offices and the family business is still growing and prospering.
As President, Scott W. Foster, CPCU, AAI, LIA, carries on the tradition continuing to actively seek new avenues and opportunities to serve clients.
“During the past 84 years we have shared wars, prosperity, depression, inflation, natural disasters, financial set-backs, high interest rates, shortages, population and atomic explosions, high employment, unemployment, the energy crunch, and even peace – with you. Most importantly we shared in your big decisions at a time when being right was crucial.
Today is no different. The need for professional expertise is still evident. The world is moving fast and changing dramatically. Opportunities continue to abound but require greater scrutiny, analysis and involvement on our part. As in the past, we are ready, qualified and equal to the challenge.”
